Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site group meetings, safety walkabouts, and effectively communicate safety and health updates to all personnel.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust Company Safety Management Systems to ensure operational excellence and adherence to international standards.
- Monitor, capture, and report monthly safety and health key performance indicators to track progress and identify areas for enhancement.
- Actively participate in incident and accident investigations, providing valuable insights to prevent reoccurrences and improve safety measures.
- Ensure compliance with risk assessments and legal requirements at the site level, implementing proactive measures to minimize potential hazards.
- Collaborate with the Manager in regulatory inspections and audits, ensuring prompt implementation of agreed corrective actions.
- Conduct safety and emergency drills to enhance preparedness and response capabilities in various scenarios.
- Assist and support in-house training programs to empower employees with the knowledge and skills necessary for a safety-first approach.
- Strategically plan and implement safety programs and campaigns to foster a culture of safety consciousness and promote best practices.
- Generate comprehensive safety reports, newsletters, and bulletins to keep the workforce informed and engaged in safety initiatives.
- Enforce compliance with HSE and Quality policies and established procedures, taking appropriate management actions in response to any HSE rule violations.
- Remain vigilant in reporting any unsafe acts on the premises and periodically review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accuracy and relevance.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any ad-hoc duties assigned, demonstrating versatility and dedication in supporting the QHSSE objectives.
The Successful Applicant
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of relevant quality, safety, environmental, and security standards and regulations will be of added advantage.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001will be of an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- A self-driven individual with a passion for promoting a strong safety culture and environmental sustainability.
