Job Title: Risk Manager UCITS /Financial AIFs

ROLE DEFINITION:
The Risk management team ensures the activity of abrdn Investments S.A. (“aILSA”) are conducted such that there is full risk management coverage of the Luxembourg UCITS funds and Fixed Income, Multi Assets and Equity AIFs managed by aILSA domiciled in other European countries, which are subject to the risk management requirements of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive.
The Risk Manager will form part of the Risk Management team and will assist the Senior Risk Manager to ensure that aILSA has a fully functioning risk management framework and is compliant with all risk management principles, policies and rules and other applicable risk management regulations.

Main responsibilities
- Assist the Senior risk Manager on ensuring that the Management Company’s Risk Management Process (“RMP”) addresses all risks to which the funds are exposed and that the document is maintained and up to date;
- Assist the Senior risk Manager on identify all risks that may be material to the UCITS/AIF, and maintaining a system of internal limits consistent with this risk profile;
- Be prepared to back-up the Senior Risk Manager in the Company Committees/Board of Directors
- Responsible for the analysis of the fund’s Liquidity and monthly investment risk reporting, performing commonality checks, limit-based checks for the funds and investigation of any issues directly in our risk management systems (Liquidity Tool, RiskMetrics and all relevant risk tools) or though inquires to the Investment Risk team in the UK;
- Oversight of the back-testing reports and any follow up on discrepancies or issues that may arise;
- Working with the Investment Risk team in the UK on development and evolution of appropriate liquidity stress test scenario for the funds;
- Lead the production of liquidity risk analysis and report production for the abrdn Investment Protection Committee
- Working with the Investment Risk team in the UK to enhance/ implement new regulatory requirements in our risk management frameworks;
- Assisting the Senior Risk Manager on the development of Investment Risk reporting for the funds and also development of risk reporting to the Board of Directors of the Management Company and the Boards of the funds;
- Assisting the Senior Risk Manager on the production of regulatory reporting in relation to the UCITS/AIFs managed by aILSA
- Acting as a helpdesk for both internal and client related queries relating to Investment Risk on the Luxembourg funds, responding to risk-related RFPs , assistance on due diligence reviews, Auditor s and Regulatory requests;
- Act autonomously and know when to escalate matters when appropriate
- Demostrate knowledge of European and/or local requirements in relation to UCITS/AIFs and risk management
- Support the growth and the improvement of the efficiency of the Team developing new data management solutions through the use of Company databases and coding (e.g. SQL, VBA, Python..)
- Act as a coach and mentor for the risk analysts on the Team
