The position
The Associate Director, Corporate Intelligence and Business Development (BD) Valuations has responsibility for two objectives:
Drive commercial assessment and valuation for external business development opportunities, ranging from R&D platforms, pre-clinical and clinical projects to commercial compounds and related activities. This covers current as well as future therapeutic areas. The activities require leading interactions with all parts of the value chain both outside (Research, Development, Medical, Operations, Commercial, Finance, Product Supply) and inside (Search & Evaluation, Transactions) Corporate Development.
Identify and oversee analyses of the Biopharma industry and companies to validate hypotheses and drive corporate and business development strategy. The aim - formulate, develop and communicate insightful and actionable intelligence into competitive performance, portfolio and strategy to the executive team and across the organisation to support the strategic decision-making process.
This position is at the epicenter of the evolving strategy and is critical in driving strategy and also the evaluation and execution of external opportunities.

Qualifications
Minimum of a Master’s degree required
7+ years of relevant experience required. Experience in biopharmaceutical and/or financial services organizations preferred
Strong analytical and financial skills, and the ability to assess and credibly challenge data and concepts across a large span of content, often towards technical expert stakeholders, is critical
Ability to lead analytical and strategic projects independently and in close cooperation with colleagues across Novo Nordisk to ensure a holistic strategic solution to often multifaceted business problems
Direct accountability with a high degree of integrity and capable of providing high quality deliverables for projects of strategic importance, at times under a considerable pressure and tight deadlines; hence the position requires a highly structured and analytical approach combined with a high capacity and sense of urgency
Excellent collaboration and an ability to learn the Novo Nordisk business and organisation, as well as the general pharma/biotech industry, is preferred
As a person you have high capacity for idea generation, hypothesis testing and problem solving, the ability to consolidate large amounts of complex information in a dynamic environment and to think outside the box to arrive at creative solutions. You have a demonstrated ability to present to, influence and build rapport with senior management.
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time, including internationally is required.
